Marilyn Monroe The Legacy of A Legend

I cannot believe it’s been almost two years since last time I posted but as I mentioned in my last post, I’ve been very, very busy getting my Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design. It has been quite a journey, believe me, but I fulfilled a long time dream which was going to university. I have proved to myself that it is never too late to start learning, all you need is believing in yourself and work really hard!

No me puedo creer que hayan pasado dos años desde la última vez que escribí en el blog pero como os comenté en mi ultimo post, he estado muy pero que muy ocupada sacándome la Carrera de diseño de moda. No ha sido un proceso fácil pero he conseguido hacer realidad el sueño de ir a la Universidad. He podido comprobar en primera persona como nunca es demasiado tarde para aprender algo, todo lo que se necesita es ¡creer en uno mismo y trabajar duro para conseguirlo!

But enough about me, let’s go back to what it has been the focus of this blog from the beginning, shall we? Let’s talk about what’s going on in London in terms of fashion. Two weeks ago I went to the Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour to see an exhibition about Marilyn Monroe entitled: “Marilyn Monroe, The Legacy Of A Legend”. I was quite curious about this exhibition as they were showcasing Monroe’s never seen before personal items and original costumes from iconic films such as ‘Niagara’ or ‘Some Like It Hot’, one of my favourite movies.

Pero dejemos de hablar de mi y centrémonos en lo que ha sido y es el propósito de este blog desde sus comienzos ¿os parece? Hace unas dos semanas estuve en el Design Centre, en Chelsea Harbour para ver una exposición sobre Marilyn Monroe titulada: “Marilyn Monroe, El Legado de una Leyenda”. La verdad es que tenía bastante curiosidad por ver esta exposición ya que se iban a mostrar objetos personales, nunca vistos antes y algunos de los vestidos que Marilyn ha llevado en algunas de sus icónicas películas como ‘Niagara’ o 'Con Faldas y a lo Loco', una de mis películas favoritas.

The exhibition also showcases some of Marilyn's favourite pieces of jewellery and accessories as well as some personal papers and handwriting notes.

La exposición también muestra algunas de las piezas de joyería favoritas de Marilyn así como algunos documentos personales y notas escritas a mano por la actriz.

I really recommend this exhibition, it is a rare opportunity to see first hand some personal belongings and emblematic costumes of a true legend...

Recomiendo esta exposición sin lugar a dudas, es una oportunidad única de ver de primera mano algunas de las pertenencias personales y emblemático vestuario de una auténtica leyenda...

Marilyn: The Legacy of a Legend is on show at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour until June 20th and it is a free exhibition.
